It has an almost overwhelming amount of modules, some of which can be used for the same purposes which may cause some confusion. Darktable: For me, Darktable comes with quite a learning curve to get started. I read that the next RawTherapee release will include local adjustments, so I will definitely test that again, once it's out. There is light at the end of the tunnel, however. This makes the whole workflow a bit more complicated or less friction-less. While Adobe Lightroom could cater 95% of all my editing needs thanks to its local editing tools, I need to use an external editor with RawTherapee quite frequently. This means that I have to use Gimp on many of my images just to do spot removal or local exposure adjustments and so on. The major drawback for me is the lack of local editing or local adjustment capabilities. It took me no time to get around the interface and I got very pleasing results quickly. RawTherapee: It's very simple to use, if you have at least some raw photo editing experience I guess. Coming from Adobe Lightroom, I've tried both RawTherapee and Darktable on Linux to see which suited my previous workflow best.
